Quality of Work Life Grant 2025

Good morning,

I’ve attached the request form for this years QWL grant from the NYS & CSEA Partnership. If your park is in need of a new or replacement breakroom appliance- please fill out the attached form with the park/breakroom location, whether it is a new or replacement appliance, and remember to include the number of CSEA represented employees who utilize that break room. FYI the grant no longer covers stove/ovens or portable cooktops like countertop burners.

I want to also highlight that there are two eligible types of grants, and our region can apply for both annually. Most are familiar with the appliance grant, but there is also a Working Conditions Grant which can be used to cover types of utilities that improve working conditions in locations- last year we used this grant to purchase an ice machine for scalers, being a roving crew this helps them fill water coolers to take on all-day assignments. This grant is also often used to purchase window air-conditioning units, I think we may have some locations that would benefit from this use of the grant and we could cover several locations in one grant (grant max is $3000). It must be an area used by or where CSEA employees are performing work, this would apply to break rooms that are not air-conditioned and also to areas like Nature Centers in some of our parks. Think about this grant and talk to your co-workers to see where we might be able to improve some working areas of our parks 😊

I emailed all park locations today, copying a manager/supervisor and a CSEA represented employee at each. Please talk about these grant opportunities with your co-workers and make sure completed requests come back to me by Friday, November 14^th, the grant takes some time to put together and we have a December deadline.
